Huawei seems to like Motorola’s strategy which includes two not-high-end phones, Moto X and similarly looking Moto G. So it wants to repeating something like that, and launch the Ascend P6 look alike with a lower-end hardware.

According to UnwiredView, the Chinese vendor is working on the Ascend G6 which will be a solid low-to-mid range smartphone. Such device already got clearance from Chinese equivalent of FCC, making it ready to be sold in the world’s most populous country.

The Ascend G6, however, won’t be as thin as the P6 is, with thickness of 7.5 rather than 6.18 mm. It will also have a lower resolution qHD screen (540 x 960 pixels), slower processor in the form of MediaTek’s MT6582 quad-core chip clocked at 1.7GHz, 1GB (rather than 2GB) of RAM, and a pair of cameras – 8MP on the back plus 5MP front-facing one. In addition, the G6 will also sport a TD-SCDMA radio, making it compatible with China Mobile’s 3G network.

As expected, Huawei’s own Emotion UI 2.0 will run on top of Android 4.2 core. Finally, as far as we (don’t) know, this particular Huawei handset may never end-up selling in the Western hemisphere, though we could be wrong…
