Google may be soon offering the “Nexus experience” to every single Android user out there. Previously dubbed the “Google Experience” launcher, the name has now been changed to “Google Now” launcher, reflecting the idea to have Google’s digital assistant easily accessible from everywhere.

While we’re still not certain when the search giant will make this launcher available through Google Play, we do know how you can get it today. Best of all, by doing so, you’ll be guided through the simple setup process that will reportedly try to import some of the settings of the current launcher, including icons and folders.

Anyway, here’s what you need to do to get the Google Now Launcher up and running:

  1. First of all, you’ll need the GoogleHome.apk from the Nexus 5. Download it from here.
  2. Now install the latest update for Google Search. [Download Link]
  3. Set the Google Now Launcher as your new launcher.
  4. Walk through the setup.

There’s a chance you don’t see the setup if you already have GoogleHome installed. You’ll have to uninstall it and then “clear data” and “force stop” Google Search. Then just re-install GoogleHome.apk and take it from there.

Final note: This process hasn’t been tested with all devices. If something goes wrong, you can’t hold IntoMobile responsible. 😉
