More Nokia Android smartphones in the pipeline?

While Microsoft is clearing regulatory hurdles to acquire Nokia, the Finns don’t stop working on Android phones. According to a new report by G4Games, the handset maker won’t stop with Nokia X and may launch few other Android handsets soon afterwards.

The information, in case you wonder, comes from “inside sources” at QQ Technology Artesyn Technologies, which is a world leader in design, manufacture and sale of embedded board solutions and power conversion for networking, wireless and telecommunication systems, among other things. Artesyn’s client list includes the likes of Dell, IBM and HP, so these guys which may know a thing or two about Nokia’s plans.

The story goes on suggesting that the handful of Android Nokia smartphones will be released sometime within the May-June time-frame. But… By that time Microsoft may end-up owning Nokia and cancel all those plans. Simply put, I can’t imagine the Redmond giant enjoying looking at engineers time getting “wasted” into Android product development. Instead, it will likely make some changes within the company and (re)focus those efforts into making of Windows Phone devices. We’ll see how that goes…
