BlackBerry is apparently gearing towards launching a new mid-level phone for the emerging markets. Codenamed “Jakarta,” this device may be known simply as BlackBerry Z3 and we may get to see it officially outed at Mobile World Congress next week. Here’s what this model will be all about (specs wise):

  • 5-inch screen with qHD (540 x 960 pixels) resolution
  • 1.2GHz dual-core processor
  • 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage
  • 5-megapixel rear camera with auto-focus, flash and 5x digital zoom
  • 1.1-megapixel front-facing camera with 3x digital zoom
  • 2650 mAh non-removable battery

It is said that the Canadian company will launch the Jakarta/Z3 in April or May. We’re looking forward to get all other details shortly. Stay tuned…
