Samsung is preparing to unveil a new Exynos chip at Mobile World Congress. Not much is known about the upcoming Exynos Infinity but it gotta be better than what Sammy is currently making. So we may be looking at 64-bit SoC that could pack different LTE radios, helping the Korean giant dump Qualcomm as a chip supplier for its top phones.
This, of course, is just our speculation and with Sammy’s huge demand, they’ll still have to rely on other companies to make chips for all devices they sell around the world.
Back in November 2013, Samsung said they’re developing their own 64-bit AP solution. At that time, we’ve learned that the first generation 64-bit AP will use ARM’s core while the next-gen will be based on Samsung’s own core.
Exciting times ahead… Especially for Samsung shareholders. 😉
