Samsung bendable tablet will be shown in Barcelona, but not many will be able to see it

Samsung will demo a bendable tablet at Mobile World Congress, the Korean media is reporting. Unfortunately though, most of us won’t be able to see it as the demo is reserved for the select group of people. We’re not on the list but are hoping that someone with the pass will let us know what this device is all about.

Sure it’s prototype but it sounds cool. According to ETNews (and brought to our attention by G4Games), this tablet has the ability to be folded up to 90 degrees, eventually transforming itself into a touch-based laptop. When it’s in that mode, users see a big virtual keyboard on the bottom part of the screen and the app on the top.

I already love it. Alas, we’ll likely have to wait for few more years until this technology becomes affordable enough to be available in mainstream products. Meanwhile, we may see it in some special settings like in-store demonstration devices a la Microsoft PixelSense. Still, we can’t help but look forward to the “brave new world.” 😉
