During Mobile World Congress, Samsung announced SDKs for its newly launched products. The new SDKs include:

  • Samsung Gear 2 SDK – For creating apps for the new Tizen-based Gear 2 and Gear Neo. It ensures everybody a level of openness and flexibility in the ecosystem of apps for Samsung wearables.
  • S-Health SDK – Opens up access for developers to all the data being collected from sensors on the Galaxy S5, Gear 2 and Gear Fit. It also allows for more robust activity data tracking, and overall easier development of health apps.
  • Gear Fit SDK – For select developers to create apps for the new RTOS-based Gear Fit.

In addition, the Korean giant has also added new features to its Samsung Mobile SDK. Perhaps the most notable change here is support for finger scanning technology that comes with the brand-new Galaxy S5. Moreover, the new SDK includes strengthened motion-detection function, as well as multi-screen technology for developing apps that can simultaneously operate on TV and mobile devices.
