Yes, there’s a way to root Nokia X and install Google apps!

Wow, that was quick. Only days after the Nokia X has been officially announced, savvy hackers found a way to root it and cram Google apps on it.

The process involves using the Framaroot app which will later allow you to cram Google’s own closed-source apps to Nokia’s Android smartphone. According to this post at XDA forums (via AndroidCentral), the application framework was left intact enabling Google (and other) apps to run.

So if you are thinking to buy a Nokia Android device, now you have another reason to do so. While HERE maps are great and getting better with the day, most of us can’t imagine relying on other-than-Google Maps service. Plus, there’s GMail, Google Calendar and other must-have apps…
