Huawei doesn’t want to miss what’s shaping up to be the “2K screen resolution,” started by Chinese company Vivo and its Xplay 3S device. According to the HuaweiNews website, such smartphone will be launched in September as part of Huawei’s Ascend D series. Rumored specs include a 2GHz true octa-core HiSilicon K3V3 chip and a 5-inch 2,560×1,440 pixels screen (that’s 587 ppi!). The price is apparently set at 3,888 Yuan, which translates into some $632.

Meanwhile, we should also see another model from the D series launching; the Ascend D3 will reportedly debut in June, hitting the stores with a price tag of 2,888 Yuan (about $469). Its specs will include a full HD screen, 4G LTE connectivity support, and 1.8GHz octa-core chip, while Android 4.4 KitKat will run the show right from the get-go.

In addition, let’s not forget the Ascend P7, the fancy mid-ranger that should be out in May. From what we’ve understood, it will build on top of the current Ascend P6 to include a full HD screen and faster processor to the mix. We’ll get back to you as soon as we have something new to add…
