Sony has started rolling out Android 4.4 KitKat update for its powerful phablet, Xperia Z Ultra, folks over at XDA forums are saying.

The first model to benefit from the KitKat goodies is marked as C6833 which is the version the company is selling in Hong Kong; but we’re sure all other variants will be served in the near future, as well.

At the moment, the update is available over-the-air only, but chances are it will hit Sony’s PC Companion, too.

As that’s usually the case with Sony-made phones, aside from the latest version of Google’s mobile platform, these updates also include tweaks to Sony’s own apps, new features, bug fixes and so on… Feel free to let us know when your Z Ultra informs you about the update. 😉
