LG G3 to rock a dust- and water-proof body?

We gotta give it to Sony for being the first major vendor to introduce dust- and water-resistant phones to the West. For years that capability came as given with many devices sold in Japan, but now that trend is global.

The newly announced Samsung Galaxy S5 is water-proof and so will be the upcoming LG G3. According to the ETnews report, LG believes that the waterproof and dustproof features are among the key traits of a 2014 flagship smartphone. So its G3 flagship, which will be introduced later this year, will have these capabilities.

That, of course, is just one piece of the puzzle. The Korean company will also include other fancy bells and whistles to the G3, including some sort of biometric scanner and a QHD/2K screen with 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution. Perhaps more important — at least for LG’s long-term prospects — this smartphone may be the first model to rock LG’s own Odin processor.

Again, the LG G3 will be announced closer to the end of the year, and in the meantime we’re sure we’ll be hearing more about it. Stay tuned…
