Nokia patent can recognize gestures that start or end outside of the screen

Just recently we’ve told you about Nokia’s patent for the technology that tries to make phone and tablet bezels active. Now we have a similar patent, uncovered by WMpoweruser, that promises to recognize gestures that start or end outside of the touch screen.

According to the filing, these gestures can be used to open applications, dial numbers, launch searches in apps or even do a universal search.

Sounds like something that could make mobile workers even more productive though we would have to try it out ourselves before coming to any conclusions.
