Sony keeps launching its apps to the Google Play Store, allowing for easier updates in the future. The two new titles they’ve released are Sony SmartBand and LifeLog apps, both of which are made to work with their SmartBand accessory. Alas, it’s still not available and as far as we know, it won’t hit the store shelves before May. Furthermore, even at that point it may not be available all across the world — U.S. may have to wait a little longer to get it.

Anyhow, the SmartBand application is used to control the SmartBand, allowing users to set “which life logging functions are enabled” and which they prefer to keep out of Sony servers. On the other hand, the LifeLog app provides information about one’s physical activities, communications and entertainment. It can also monitor your progress, and allow you to set activity goals.

Both apps are free to download and will work with Xperia devices running Android 4.4 KitKat. At the moment that means the Xperia Z2, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z1 Compact.
