Microsoft is working with folks behind the Pebble smart watch to make it [Pebble watch] compatible with Windows Phone devices. It’s still not clear when we’ll see the fruits of this co-operation, but we tend to think some beta app will be out sooner rather than later.

Turns out in a conversation with one of the Pebble Watch Engineers, they didn’t know that the interface with Windows 8 is similar to the interface they use with the iPhone. So over the next few weeks I am going to explore the possibility of working with the Pebble Watch.

That statement alone is pretty promising and guess it’s now up to the two teams (Microsoft and Pebble) to come up with a decent Pebble app for Windows Phone. And by decent, we mean it should come with Pebble’s own app store, allowing folks to extend the functionality of their smart watch with third-party apps.

We’ll be on the lookout for any additional tidbits and get back to you as soon as we have something new to add. Stay tuned in the meantime…
