ScummVM in process of being ported to Android; Lucas Arts’ classic games are coming!

ScummVM

Guess we expected this to appear, after seeing the ScummVM engine being ported to the Apple iPhone and Nokia’s Maemo platforms. It’s Android time, meaning that the HTC Dream/T-Mobile G1 and HTC Magic owners soon will be able to enjoy playing good ol’ point-and-click adventure games (someone said Secret of the Monkey Island?) on their beloved devices.

A number of titles is instantly available, although for full versions you’ll need to buy the original game to get the license. Afterwards, the world’s your oyster — no longer you’ll be bored while waiting in a queue or at a meeting where your presence is not really needed.

Hop over to ScummVM’s unofficial port to Android page at Google Sites and take it from there. Good luck in fighting those pirates. 😉

UPDATE: ScummVM is already available in the Android Market.
