Acquiring Motorola was just one of the moves Lenovo had in store for this year. The Chinese firm is also working on its very first Windows Phone device, which according to German website Mobile Geeks will most certainly launch later this year. In case you wonder, the mentioned site quotes words from President of Lenovo’s Mobile Business Group, Liu Jun.
Unfortunately though, we’re not sure what kind of device this Windows Phone 8 unit will be, as in whether it will target demanding users in the higher end of the market (like the Windows Phone-powered Vibe Z mockup pictured above), or first time smartphone buyers looking for an affordable handset.
But wait, the news don’t stop there. In the same interview Jun also said that we may also see the first Lenovo-made wearable device launching this year or in early 2015. We know that the company will launch the Moto 360 through its Motorola subsidiary but as far as I’ve understood, we’ll see another smart watch launching, this time with Lenovo branding.
Anyhow, it’s still early to reach to any conclusion and for the time being we’ll have to watch and see where this goes. Stay tuned…
