Sony Mobile announced wireless charging accessories for its flagship device, Xperia Z2. The Japanese company unveiled two devices, the Wireless Charging Cover WCR12 and WCH10 Wireless Charging Plate.
The first of the two is a flip-style cover that can also double as a stand when you use the Xperia Z2 in landscape mode. The cover comes in leather, adding full 66 grams to the relatively light smartphone. It will work with any Qi-compatible charger, but Sony thinks you’re best off using their own wireless charging plate.
Speaking of which, the WCH10 is a “minimalist and stylish wireless charger” that produces 5W of power. In order to charge you Xperia Z2 with the WCR12 case (or any other device with Qi wireless charging capability, for that matter), you’ll have to place the device on the small plate, and you’re good to do. It’s that easy.
In its blog post, Sony failed to say anything about availability and pricing, and we’ll rather have to wait for few more days to get those details. Meanwhile, we’re want to know – is anyone looking to buy one of these?
