Wow, that was faster than expected. Yesterday, we’ve told you that Samsung is looking to launch a beefed-up version of the Galaxy S5 in Korea and voila – it’s now officially official, and it will soon hit the portfolio of the local operator, SK Telecom.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A has all the bells and whistles we’ve expected the original Galaxy S5 to have, including a 5.1-inch QHD screen (2560×1440 pixels), super-fast Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chip clocked at 2.5GHz, 3GB of RAM and LTE-A connectivity support allowing downloads of up to 225Mbps.
Rest of the specs are unchanged and include a 16-megapixel main camera, 2-megapixel front-facing one, fingerprint scanner, heart rate sensor and so on. All this comes in a IP67-certified dust- and water-resistant body.
SK Telecom will sell the Galaxy S5 LTE-A for 940,500 won, which translates into whopping $920. Users will get to choose between few differently colored versions, including Charcoal Black, Shimmery White, Electric Blue, Copper Gold, Sweet Pink and Glam Red.
It is said that two other Korean operators, KT and LG U+, will be joining the party in no time at all. As for the rest of us living in other parts of the world, we can only hope this model will come to our shores sooner rather than later. Hard times for those who already bought the Galaxy S5…
