Verizon to launch LG G Vista on Friday, but do you really care?

The earlier rumored LG G Vista will be launched this Friday, July 18th, according to EVleaks. The device, which is pretty much Verizon’s version of the LG G Pro 2 Lite, looks like it’s made for first-time phablet buyers. It’s an entry-level smartphone with specs that include a large 5.7-inch 720p HD screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core chip clocked at 1.2GHz, solid 3200mAh battery and a pair of cameras — 8-megapixel shooter on the back, plus a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera.

Availability details are still unknown, but considering the specs sheet, this won’t the most expensive device in the Big Red’s carrier portfolio. In any case, we should get the missing pieces in just a few days.

Meanwhile, we have to ask – do you really need a phablet, let alone the one that doesn’t rock top-notch hardware? Presuming you do have big pockets and have nothing against carrying an oversized phone, I would suggest you to avoid buying the Vista. There’s gotta be a good reason to justify the extra bulkiness a phablet brings. If it’s not a high-end device, you’re much better off getting some other, smaller phone instead. That, at least, is the way I see things. What do you say?
