Asus has made KitKat update available for two of its devices, Padfone Infinity and Fonepad Note 6. As that’s the case with many handset makers, aside from core platform enhancements, Asus has also included some of its own updates and tweaks to the mix.

Unfortunately, the new software isn’t available over-the-air, and you’ll have to semi-manually cram it to your device. The Taiwanese company has prepared these two pages — Padfone Infinity and Fonepad Note 6 — with all the instructions you would need. You’ll have to download the appropriate package and start the installation that way.

Before doing so, read about the goodies you’ll get.

First, here’s what’s new for the Padfone Infinity:

  • Buddybuzz
  • Car Home
  • Watch Calendar
  • My Library
  • My Bit cast
  • App Backup – will add it back in further run FOTA
  • Pinpal
  • ASUS Studio – renamed to Gallery
  • ASUS To-Do – renamed to Do It Later
  • Black list – integrated with Contacts, no independent App icon now
  • ASUS Sync
  • App Locker – integrated with Launcher, no independent App icon now
  • AOLink
  • ASUS Echo
  • Birthday Reminder
  • Mode manager
  • System bar lock
  • Device tracker
  • Floating App
  • Quick Tool

And here’s the changelog for the Fonepad Note 6:

  • Improved modem stability
  • Update to ZenUI
  • Remove APP locker to combine into Launcher
  • Removed Device Tracker as KitKat doesn’t support this function
  • Removed APP backup, MyLibrary, Parental Lock, MyBit Cast & AO Link
  • Added Easy Mode, Music, MyASUS, Omlet Chat, PlayTo, Quick Memo, What’s Next, Zen Links & Boost

Now good luck getting KitKat to your Asus device. 😉
