Oppo is preparing to launch a successor to its N1 smartphone, which was unique for its swivel camera.

The upcoming Oppo N3, according to GizChina, will be unveiled in October, sporting an improved hardware and better camera.

All the details, unfortunately, are not available for the moment, but we know the N3’s “starting point” which would be the N1’s specs sheet.

The N1 rocks a 13-megapixel camera which doesn’t have Optical Image Stabilization, so that could be one of the features N3 will incorporate.

Moreover, the N1 rocks Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 600 chip which used to power-up such devices as the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One M7. Today, we expect any high-end smartphone — and we do think the Oppo N3 will fit that category — to sport either the Snapdragon 801 or Snapdragon 805 Soc. There’s also that new MediaTek chip, which seems powerful enough to run things smoothly.

Finally, we would want the Quad HD screen on the N3. If the Chinese firm opts to keep this device in the “phablet category,” it would be a common sense to use the best possible display available on the market. And that means 2,560 x 1,440 pixels.

We’ll be on the lookout for additional details and get back to you as soon as we hear something new. Stay tuned in the meantime, k?
