Yesterday we saw the Desire Eye, now it’s time for its metal-clad sibling – the One M8 EYE. However, this device doesn’t have a powerful front-facing camera with flash; rather it has a 5MP selfie shooter with BSI sensor though with improved camera software.

Additionally, instead of an UltraPixel rear camera, the HTC One M8 EYE has a standard 13MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and 28mm lens on the back. Rest of the specs are unchanged and include a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core chip, 2GB of RAM, 5-inch full HD screen, infrared LED for remote control, dual stereo speakers on the front, 4G LTE connectivity support, GPS + GLONASS, and 16GB of expandable storage.

The HTC One M8 EYE will be available in Gunmetal Gray and Glacial Silver; in China where it was announced, users can already pre-order the phone for 3999 Yuan (about $652). Otherwise, the sales will start on October 15th, and no – we’ve no idea when it will be available in other parts of the world. Then again, we expect this to be a short wait, and we’ll undoubtedly let you know when we see the One M8 Eye hitting some major carrier. Stay tuned.
