Samsung has officially announced two of the earlier rumored Galaxy A smartphones, the A3 and A5, both of which boast a metal frame along the sides. However, these premium looking devices aren’t made for folks looking for a high-end device; the Galaxy A3 is an entry-level, whereas the A5 is going for the mid range of the market.

Specs wise, the A3 has 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, 4.3-inch qHD (540×960 pixels) screen, 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 1,900mAh battery. The A5 builds on top of that, adding an additional gig of RAM (for a total of 2GB), double the internal storage (16GB), 5-inch 720p HD screen, 13MP main camera, and a 2,300mAh battery.

Both models come with a microSD card slot, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 5 megapixel front-facing camera with wide-selfie option, 4G LTE support and the Ultra Power Saving Mode.

The Samsung Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 will be available in select markets from November 2014, starting with China.

Pricing will likely vary market by market since the Korean company failed to provide any details on that front. Another thing missing from the press release is any reference to the Galaxy A7, which will likely be joining the series in the near future. Perhaps, even by the end of this year…
