Honor is making a serious push into the accessible flagship market with its new 600 series smartphones. The company launched the Honor 600 and 600 Pro in Malaysia first, marking the global debut of a smartphone lineup that combines premium hardware with competitive pricing.
The move signals Honor’s strategy to compete more aggressively in the mid-to-high-end smartphone segment, where brands like OnePlus and Google Pixel have gained significant ground. By starting the global rollout in Malaysia, Honor is testing its appeal in a market known for price-conscious consumers who still demand flagship features.
Flagship processors make their way down the lineup
The Honor 600 series represents a significant hardware upgrade from previous N-series devices. The Honor 600 Pro runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite platform, delivering 45% better CPU performance and 44% improved GPU performance compared to earlier generations. The standard Honor 600 uses the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, which still provides solid performance gains of 27% for CPU and 30% for GPU tasks.
To handle the heat from these powerful processors, Honor equipped the 600 Pro with a massive 5,219 mm² 3D vapor chamber cooling system – the largest the company has ever used. This is paired with a 12,000+ mm² graphite cooling layer to maintain consistent performance during intensive tasks.
200MP cameras with AI video generation
Both models feature identical 200MP main cameras with 1/1.4-inch sensors, supported by Honor’s Night Engine for better low-light photography. The key difference lies in the telephoto capabilities:
- Honor 600 Pro: 50MP telephoto with up to 120x digital zoom and CIPA 6.5 image stabilization
- Honor 600: Telephoto setup with up to 30x digital zoom
The standout feature is Honor’s new AI Image to Video 2.0 system. This on-device technology can combine up to three still photos into 3-5 second video clips based on text prompts. Users can describe what they want to see, and the AI generates appropriate camera movements and visual effects. While similar features exist on other platforms, having this capability work entirely on-device is noteworthy for privacy and speed.
Display and battery designed for heavy usage
Both phones share a 6.57-inch OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and an impressive 8,000 nits peak brightness. Honor’s Eye Comfort Display technology uses 3,840Hz PWM dimming to reduce flicker, which should help with eye strain during extended use. The company claims the 0.98mm black bezels are the narrowest currently available.
The 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery is one of the largest in this price category. Both models support 80W wired charging and 27W reverse charging that works with external devices, including iPhones. The Pro model adds 50W wireless charging capability.
Durability ratings exceed industry standards
Honor pushed durability further than typical smartphones in this price range. The 600 series is the first in Honor’s N lineup to achieve IP69K rating, which protects against high-pressure water jets and steam cleaning. The phones also meet standard IP68 and IP69 ratings, plus SGS 5-star certification for drop and crush resistance.

Honor is positioning these devices competitively in the Malaysian market:
