Motorola is blurring the lines between technology and jewelry with its latest luxury collection. The company announced new additions to its Brilliant Collection, featuring the motorola signature smartphone and moto buds 2 plus earbuds adorned with Swarovski crystals.
This move reflects a broader trend in premium consumer electronics, where brands are positioning tech products as fashion accessories and lifestyle statements. Both devices come in PANTONE Violet Indigo and target consumers willing to pay premium prices for unique, artisanal technology products.
Design inspired by night sky and constellations
The new Brilliant Collection draws inspiration from constellations, using radiance, texture and color to create what Motorola calls a “special experience.” The design features amethyst Swarovski crystals arranged in a 3D-quilted pattern that complements the PANTONE Violet Indigo shade and silk-inspired finish.
This combination creates a deep, luxurious backdrop meant to resemble the night sky. The motorola signature features 20 hand-placed amethyst Swarovski crystals that “twinkle like bright stars” and shift with each movement, while light bounces off the crystals to create visual appeal.
Premium specs match the luxury design
Beyond the aesthetic upgrades, both devices pack high-end technology. The motorola signature includes:
- Camera system ranked best in its category by DXOMARK
- Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Mobile Platform for AI performance
- Largest battery among ultrathin phones in its category
- Military-grade durability standards (MIL-STD-810H)
- IP68/IP69 water and dust resistance ratings
- Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection
The moto buds 2 plus showcase 12 Swarovski crystals on each earbud, with the charging case adorned with 41 hand-placed crystals surrounding the Motorola logo. Sound by Bose technology provides the audio experience, while the earbuds deliver up to 40 hours of total playtime with the case.
Sustainability focus despite luxury positioning
Despite the premium materials and luxury positioning, Motorola emphasizes sustainability in the motorola signature’s construction:
- More than 63% recycled metals and 100% recycled aluminum in the mid-housing
- Various recycled plastics, including 65% post-consumer recycled plastic and 20% Ocean Bound Plastic in components
- 1200-cycle battery life with silicon-carbon battery technology
- Durable construction designed to extend device lifespan
Global rollout planned for coming weeks
Both devices will roll out to select countries and regions across Europe, Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Asia-Pacific in the coming weeks. Motorola has not yet disclosed pricing details, directing interested customers to contact local PR teams for availability and cost information.
This collaboration between Motorola and Swarovski represents the growing trend of technology companies partnering with luxury brands to create premium, limited-edition products that appeal to style-conscious consumers willing to pay higher prices for unique designs and craftsmanship.
