RedMagic has confirmed it will launch the 11S Pro gaming phone on May 18, 2026, in China. The device will pack an overclocked version of Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which the company calls the “Leading Version.”

The company announced the phone with a teaser featuring the caption “Rising Stars and Leading Overclocking,” hinting at the enhanced chip performance. The global release is expected to follow soon after the Chinese debut.

This move signals RedMagic’s continued push to dominate the mobile gaming space through raw performance gains. Gaming phones have increasingly relied on overclocked processors and advanced cooling systems to differentiate themselves from mainstream flagship devices. The 11S Pro represents the latest evolution in this arms race for mobile gaming supremacy.

The overclocked Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 “Leading Version” is expected to match the performance of Samsung’s “for Galaxy” variant. This means the Prime cores will run at 4.47GHz instead of the standard 4.43GHz, while Performance cores maintain the same 3.53GHz clock speeds as the regular version.

When combined with RedMagic’s active cooling system, this processor boost could push the 11S Pro to the top of mobile benchmark charts. However, the company’s recent gaming phones have been caught ignoring thermal limits to achieve high scores, raising questions about whether similar aggressive power profiles will appear in the new device.

The enhanced performance comes at a critical time for gaming phone makers. As mainstream smartphones become increasingly powerful, dedicated gaming devices must offer clear advantages to justify their existence. RedMagic’s approach focuses on maximum performance through overclocking and cooling rather than unique gaming features.

RedMagic will also launch a gaming tablet alongside the 11S Pro. The RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro will feature:

  • Standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor
  • Compact 9-inch OLED display
  • 8,300mAh battery capacity

Both devices target the growing mobile gaming market, which has seen increased demand for high-performance hardware. The timing also positions RedMagic ahead of other gaming phone makers who typically launch their flagship devices later in the year.

The company expects to reveal more official details about both devices before the May 18 launch event. The global availability timeline remains unclear, but RedMagic typically brings its devices to international markets within weeks of the Chinese launch.
