Motorola’s complete 2026 Razr lineup launches in the US with first book-style foldable

Motorola has launched its entire 2026 Razr lineup in the United States after a week-long pre-order period. The release includes the company’s first book-style foldable, the Razr Fold, which is also available in Canada as a standalone launch.

This marks a significant expansion for Motorola’s foldable portfolio, which has traditionally focused on clamshell designs that hark back to the original Razr flip phone. By entering the book-style foldable market, Motorola is directly challenging Samsung’s Galaxy Fold series and Google’s Pixel Fold devices.

The Razr Fold sits at the top of the lineup with a $1,900 price tag in the US and CAD $2,700 in Canada. The device comes with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, positioning it as a premium offering in the competitive foldable market. US customers purchasing directly from Motorola receive free Moto Buds 2 Plus earbuds and a pack of four Moto Tags, plus up to $500 in trade-in credit.

The three clamshell models offer different price points and features:

  • Razr Ultra 2026: Priced at $1,500 with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, includes the same promotional bundle as the Fold but with a lower $400 trade-in bonus
  • Razr+ 2026: Costs $1,100 with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, comes with Swarovski-studded Moto Buds Loop instead of the standard earbuds, offers $300 in trade-in credit
  • Razr 2026: The entry-level model at $800 with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, includes free Moto Buds 2 Plus and $200 trade-in bonus

The launch strategy reflects Motorola’s attempt to capture different segments of the foldable market. While Samsung has dominated the space with its Galaxy Z series, companies like Motorola are betting that diverse form factors and competitive pricing can win over consumers who have been hesitant to adopt foldable technology.

Availability varies by retailer and carrier. All models are currently sold as unlocked devices through Motorola’s website, Amazon, and Best Buy. AT&T carries the Razr+ 2026, while T-Mobile and Cricket Wireless will receive some models in the coming months. The Razr Fold will expand to local carriers later this year.

The timing of this launch comes as foldable phone sales continue to grow globally, though they still represent a small fraction of overall smartphone sales. Industry analysts expect 2026 to be a crucial year for foldable adoption, as prices become more accessible and the technology matures.
