Galaxy Z Fold 8 specs leaked: faster charging, lighter body, dual 50MP cameras

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about phones of 2026, and the leaks keep coming. A tipster known for accurate predictions has now revealed a detailed breakdown of the phone’s core specifications, giving us a clearer picture of what to expect when Samsung officially announces it.

The leak comes from Ahmed Qwaider, who has built a reputation for reliable pre-launch information on Samsung devices. While nothing is confirmed until Samsung says so, leaks from sources like this tend to hold up.

Here’s what the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is reportedly bringing to the table:

  • 5.5-inch cover display (16:10 aspect ratio)
  • 7.6-inch internal foldable display (4:3 aspect ratio)
  • Both screens use Dynamic AMOLED 2x panels with up to 120Hz refresh rate
  • 50MP wide-angle camera (F1.8) + 50MP ultrawide camera (F1.9) on the rear
  • Two 10MP front cameras (F2.2), one for each screen
  • Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor
  • 12GB RAM with 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options
  • 4,800mAh battery with 45W wired and 15W wireless charging

The charging specs are worth paying attention to. At 45W wired, this would be the fastest charging speed ever seen on a Galaxy Z Fold device. Samsung has historically kept foldables behind its flagship S-series phones when it comes to charging speed, so this would be a meaningful step forward for anyone who’s ever found themselves waiting too long to top up a Fold.

The size and weight numbers tell an interesting story. When folded, the Z Fold 8 measures 123.9 x 81.9 x 9.7mm, and when open, 123.9 x 161.4 x 4.5mm. That makes it slightly thicker than the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in both states. But the weight comes in at just 201g, which would make it the lightest Galaxy Z Fold ever. That trade-off, a touch more thickness for a noticeably lighter feel, might actually be a win for day-to-day use.

The camera setup is a departure from what we’ve seen on recent Fold phones. A dual 50MP system without a dedicated telephoto lens suggests Samsung may be prioritizing image quality on the two main sensors over optical zoom range. Whether that’s the right call depends on what you use your phone for, but it’s a clear design choice.

One thing the leak doesn’t address is dust and water resistance. Samsung has been working to close the gap between its foldables and the Galaxy S lineup in terms of durability ratings, and it remains to be seen whether the Z Fold 8 gets a full IP68 rating or something more limited.

Foldable phones are still a premium niche, but Samsung’s Fold line has become the benchmark that other manufacturers measure themselves against. Google, Motorola, and a growing number of Chinese brands are all pushing foldables harder than ever, which means Samsung can’t afford to stand still. A lighter body, faster charging, and a refined display setup all point to a phone that’s trying to stay ahead of that competition.
