Tecno’s new concept might actually be the first truly bezel-less phone

Zero bezels. It’s a promise the phone industry has been teasing for years without ever fully delivering. Now Tecno, a Chinese brand known for flashy concept hardware, is claiming it’s finally done it, and the numbers are hard to argue with: 0 microns. Literally nothing.

According to Engadget, the concept is heading to IFA 2026 and uses what Tecno calls “advanced internal stacking” to eliminate the last sliver of border that circuit routing and safety clearances normally require. That’s the part most manufacturers quietly give up on. Apple and Samsung hover around 90 percent screen-to-body ratio on their flagships. Xiaomi and Honor push closer to 95 percent. Tecno is going for 100, and it has a structural rethink to back it up, not just marketing math.

Still, it’s a concept. And the obvious question nobody’s answered yet is how the phone handles accidental touch inputs when there’s literally no border to grip. The press release teases “touch sensitivity” improvements but stops short of explaining how. That’s the detail that matters most here, and we don’t have it yet.

But the bigger story is what Tecno does with this. The brand rarely sells in Western Europe or the US, which keeps it off most people’s radar. If this design becomes a real product, and Tecno decides to push into new markets alongside Honor and Oppo, that’s when things get interesting. IFA next month should tell us a lot more.
