The Honor 500 launched with pastel colorways and a camera module that looked suspiciously close to the iPhone Air. The global Honor 600 then doubled down, pulling clear inspiration from the iPhone 17 Pro. Critics noticed. Consumers noticed. And it seems like Honor noticed too.
The bigger context here matters. Honor has been working hard to build a premium reputation outside China since splitting from Huawei. That push requires a distinct identity, not just strong specs. Copying Apple’s homework was a short-term play that undermined the brand’s credibility at exactly the wrong moment. If the 700 series genuinely lands with its own visual personality, that’s a strategic win just as important as any camera upgrade.
