Honor Magic 9 is coming in four colors and one of them looks seriously good

That silver matte finish might be the detail that actually sells this phone. Honor has announced the standard Magic 9, and while the specs are still under wraps, the company is leading with looks. Four color options are confirmed, and honestly, that’s a smart move in a market where flagship buyers increasingly care about how a phone feels in the hand, not just what’s inside it.

The lineup keeps the expected White and Black options, which, fine, someone has to buy those. But the two new additions are where things get interesting. A rich sky-toned blue and a silver matte finish round out the four choices. The sky blue has that premium softness that Chinese phone brands have been really good at lately. The matte silver, though, that’s the one to watch. Done right, it reads expensive without trying too hard.

Honor hasn’t said exactly how many Magic 9 variants will drop on September 28, so we don’t yet know if this is a solo launch or if a Pro or Ultimate version shows up alongside it. That matters because the standard Magic 9 tends to get overshadowed by its siblings when they all land together. If Honor is already spotlighting the base model’s colors this early, it might be positioning this version as more of a mainstream pick than an afterthought.

This also fits into a broader shift happening across Chinese phone brands right now. Companies like Honor, Vivo, and Xiaomi are putting real effort into materials and color design, not just treating it as a last-minute marketing checkbox. Consumers are responding to it too. Color variants sell out. Limited finishes create buzz. It’s a real strategy, not just window dressing.

  • Standard White and Black options returning
  • New sky-toned blue color added
  • New silver matte finish added
  • Official launch set for September 28

So the Magic 9 is shaping up to be a phone that at least looks the part. Whether the internals back it up is the real question, and we’ll know soon enough when Honor pulls back the curtain at the end of the month.
