The accessory is designed specifically for the Mate 90 Pro Max Collector’s Edition and reportedly packs a 1-inch sensor, a 9.1-91mm physical focal length (that’s a 24-240mm equivalent), and 10x optical zoom powered by a motorized PZ zoom mechanism. It also reportedly has a built-in Red Maple lens system and a variable aperture of f/2.0 to f/4.5.
So why does this matter? Because this isn’t just a zoom adapter that magnifies what your phone’s existing camera sees. This thing apparently has its own optical system and its own large sensor. That’s a fundamentally different approach from the cheap clip-on lenses you’d find on Amazon.
