Thirteen millimeters. That’s how thick Xiaomi managed to make a 10,000mAh power bank. For context, that’s roughly the width of two stacked credit cards. If you’ve ever lugged around one of those chunky battery bricks and thought “there has to be a better way,” Xiaomi is clearly listening.
The company launched the 10000mAh 45W Ultra-Thin Magnetic Power Bank, model WPB1026S, and it’s now available on Xiaomi Youpin for 399 yuan, which works out to around $60. The slim profile is possible because Xiaomi split the capacity across two 5,000mAh silicon-carbon battery cells rather than a single bulkier unit. Silicon-carbon battery tech has been making waves in smartphones this year because it packs more energy into less space, and Xiaomi is now bringing that same approach to accessories.
The body is aluminum alloy, measuring 102 x 70.5 x 13.2mm and weighing 195 grams. It comes in silver-white and dark gray matte finishes. Both look clean and minimal, which fits the kind of person who actually cares about not having an ugly brick rattling around in their bag.
On the charging side, the single USB-C port handles up to 45W wired output and up to 30W input for recharging the power bank itself. It supports USB PD 3.0 with PPS, Quick Charge 3.0, and Apple 2.4A, so it plays well with most modern phones. That 45W output is genuinely useful. It’s fast enough to make a real dent in your phone’s battery in a short time, not just trickle-charge it while you’re hoping for the best.
One feature that doesn’t get enough attention in power banks is battery health monitoring, and Xiaomi actually built something useful here. Plug the WPB1026S into a computer via USB-C and you can pull up detailed data including battery temperature, voltage, manufacturing info, current operating status, and a log of any abnormal activity. That kind of transparency is rare at this price point, and it’s the sort of thing that matters if you plan to use this thing for years.
Thermal management gets proper attention too, with an NTC temperature control chip, a graphene heat dissipation layer, and thermal silicone all working together to keep things from getting hot. And because the capacity stays under 100Wh, it’s cleared for standard airline carry-on rules, which is a non-negotiable for frequent travelers.
The WPB1026S follows the WPB1025S that Xiaomi released earlier this year, so this is clearly a product line they’re investing in. And with magnetic alignment built in, it’s targeting the MagSafe crowd who want something that just snaps on and works.
Key specs at a glance:
- Capacity: 10,000mAh (two 5,000mAh silicon-carbon cells)
- Wired output: 45W via USB-C
- Wired input: up to 30W
- Charging standards: USB PD 3.0 with PPS, QC 3.0, Apple 2.4A
- Dimensions: 102 x 70.5 x 13.2mm, 195g
- Safety: China GB 47372-2026 certified, airline carry-on compliant
- Price: 399 yuan (around $60)
At $60, this isn’t the cheapest magnetic power bank on the market. But the combination of a genuinely slim build, fast wired charging, silicon-carbon cells, and that battery management feature makes it hard to dismiss. The power bank category has been pretty stagnant for a while, so seeing real material innovation here is refreshing. Whether it makes it to global markets at a reasonable price is another question, but if you can get one, it looks worth it.
