Cliff Crosbie, who heads Nokia’s global retail and trade marketing operations, will speak at the MEX conference in London on 2nd/3rd May 2007. Crosbie will be responding to the first point on the MEX manifesto, looking at how the mobile user experience starts in the retail environment, long before the customer has even opened the product packaging.Asked why he is participating at MEX, Crosbie told PMN: “I’ve spent most of my life creating and executing experiences at retail with the firm belief and knowledge that it makes a huge difference to a brand. Being close to your consumers is the number one priority to ensure you fill their needs in the best way. You do this through great experiences delivered by passionate well trained teams of people.â€
At Nokia he has been responsible for developing all of the flagship stores and introducing a consistent approach across the company’s retail channels. He joined the handset manufacturer from Nike, where he led retail marketing across EMEA and set-up the company’s acclaimed Niketown store on London’s Oxford Circus – the best performing Nike outlet worldwide.
Crosbie’s speech will examine how the consumer buying experience can be taken to a new level, how this approach can be scaled across the industry and how the mobile business can adapt its complexites to better meet the needs of end users. He told us: “A phone is no longer just a phone and educating consumers in what’s now possible and available to them is the key to moving the whole industry forward.â€
Cliff Crosbie’s session will be at 09:00 on 2nd May 2007 and will be followed by a series of facillitated breakout discussions inspired by his presentation, during which everyone attending the conference will have the opportunity to network and share their views as part of the unique MEX event format. Structured around a 10 point manifesto, the conference includes a series of presentations, discussion groups and panel debates where everyone is able to contribute to the agenda.
