European App World List Expands

App WorldOn top of France, Germany, Italy and Spain getting the go-ahead for BlackBerry’s on-device software store, App World, we just got word from the horse’s mouth that Ireland, Austria, Luxemburg, Portugal, the Netherlands and Belgium will also be privy to the service. An updated web portal will allow developers to localize their apps in one of thirteen countries supporting the App World.

A smaller, but handy, update coming on the way are links that launch App World when clicked from the BlackBerry mobile browser. A bunch of new categories should also be on the way to make it easier to browse for the apps that you’re interested in. Good stuff! I’m still curious if we’ll see an official affiliate program through App World in the near future, now that links to apps can be shared more easily. We have July 20th. as our tentative date for the launch, but delays are generally par for course. After Europe is done, India and Brazil will have their stab at the App World.
