Microsoft has announced October 6th. as the Windows Mobile 6.5 launch date. We’ve seen the touch-friendly user interface, the new Marketplace, updated Internet Explorer and My Phone content cloud – now it’s time to to see how it all pans out with manufacturers and carriers. It’s still going to take awhile to get used to calling them Windows Phones, but the overall facelift to Windows Mobile should do them some good in the interim before Windows mobile 7. HTC, HP, Toshiba, LG, Samsung are all promising to bring some new 6.5 hardware to North America through AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, Telus, and Bell, as well as over the world across all the major carriers. It’ll be interesting to see what kind of selection is available on launch, and how well the devices sell the new platform. After all is said and done, how many of you are excited for the new version of WinMo?
