Windows Mobile’s First Augmented Reality App Points to Cities Far Away

Up until now, Android and iPhone have hogged all of the augmented reality glory, but Windows Mobile is starting to get a taste of the action too. Korean developer HyongaSoft has cooked up ompass World Cities, which primarily points you in the direction of select cities, and, once you’re in them, points of interest like restaurants and theatres. They’re showing ompass working on the omnia II – all the information you need is overlaid on top of what the camera is seeing, and adjusts based on your direction using the internal digital compass. If you’re hoping to try this out, it should be publicly available in a month.
