The Thor game is in the AppStore and it doesn’t have to do anything with the upcoming blockbuster movie, set to hit the theaters (if everything goes as planned) in 2011. Rather, it’s a cartoon-ish game, based on a CGI animated comedy feature from Icelandic studio CAOZ.
The game is a side-scrolling platformer, which sees you in-directly controlling Thor as he runs through 13 levels across four elemental worlds (ice, air, earth and fire). It’s your “job” to collect all the lightning bolts and energy orbs that you spot on your way. You do that by swiping a finger on what’s effectively a power-up, only to use it later to bash things. In addition, you’ll have to jump across obstacles, and you do that with a single tap.
Of course, there are big bosses to beat at the end of levels, combo bonuses and additional power-ups which, for instance, could slow down the time to make your efforts easier…
If all this sounds entertaining to you, hop over to this page (iTunes) and grab the Thor game for 99 cents.
