Etymotic Research unveils its second-gen Bluetooth headset – etyBLU2

etyBLU2A company called Etymotic Research has announced its second-gen Bluetooth headset – the etyBLU2. The upgraded version of the original etyBLU headset, which pardon me I haven’t heard of before, features a highly-directional, noise-canceling microphone in a fixed-boom configuration. This design apparently allows optimal antenna placement for improved range between headset and mobile phone.

More from the official release:

Power users on mobile phones over 3000 minutes a month rely on clear, often private communication. The need for repetition or increased vocal effort on either end of the conversation can be damaging to business. etyBLU2’s noise-canceling microphone picks up the talker’s voice within a narrow range and rejects background noise that comes from outside that range. The combination of an in-ear noise-isolating earphone that blocks out 98% of background noise and a directional microphone placed close to the mouth results in exceptional sound quality and clear communication at both ends of the conversation.

And if you want to see the etyBLU2 in real-life and you happen to be in Las Vegas these days, check out their booth at CES – #3814 in the iLounge Pavilion in the North Hall.
