Roadside America iPhone app

Online guide to offbeat tourist attractions RoadsideAmerica.com is out with its own iPhone app. By now you’re probably guessing how it works – yap it’s location-aware app, providing users with driving directions to all of the sites presented. Additionally, you will be able to access attraction stories, visitor tips, phone numbers, opening hours (if such exist), as well as real-time updates and attraction status reports from RoadsideAmerica.com website.

Users can browse attractions by over 70 Roadside-centric themes such as “Big,” “Atomic,” “Music,” “Tech,” and “Zombie Army.” And once you visit an interesting attraction you can mark is as “Been There!” to keep track, take geo-tagged photos for submission to RoadsideAmerica.com, and/or share your experience with your buddies via Facebook and Twitter.

It’s a neat app/service for those of you tired of seeing plain vanilla attractions. Roadside America iPhone app is available for $2.99 for permanent access to any one of six U.S. regions, whereas an additional $5.99 unlocks you the entire U.S. for one year.
