Less than 24 hours after I posted a rumour that Eldar Murtazin blurted out on Twitter about the Nokia X6 16GB model, Nokia makes the device official. How quaint.
The announcement was not made on Nokia’s press site, but instead on the company’s official blog. The first paragraph reads like music to everyone’s ears:
Today sees the Nokia X6 get its very own baby brother in the form of a new 16GB model. Unlike its 32GB sibling, the 16GB version doesn’t Come with Music but its sizable on board storage still boasts enough space for 5,500 tracks. Outside that substantial storage sits a lush 3.2-inch widescreen capacitive touchscreen and four new finishes: all black, all white, white with pink highlights and white with yellow highlights.
Eldar was wrong about the blue coloured version, but we’ll let that one slide. Typical specifications from a high end Nokia smartphone are all there: GPS, WiFi, 5 megapixel camera, and TV out, but what’s nice is that the X6 will come bundled with Spore by EA, and Asphalt4 and DJ Mix Tour, both by Gameloft.
It’s shipping this quarter, and if I knew the price I’d tell you, but Nokia didn’t mention that. Without the “Comes with Music Tax” this device should hover between 350 and 375 EUR in the shops.
