EA launches Spore Creatures for iPhone

The next evolution in the Spore franchise has gone live on the App Store. Spore Creatures picks up where Spore Origins left off, giving you control over your Spore creature as it makes the transition from primordial waters to land. We first caught wind of Spore Creatures at CES Las Vegas 2010, where we showed you a preview of the game, and it’s finally come full circle in the iTunes AppStore.

The first Spore Origins title put you in control of your creature, as it swam around looking for food and other bits of DNA to evolve attack and defense characteristics. This time, Spore Creatures takes you onto land, where you can evolve feet, attack weapons, defensive traits, eyes, and even different colors. And, to make the game more interesting, EA Mobile made the in-game environment even more interactive. You can manipulate objects to get to where you need to go, and you’ll have to time your attacks on enemies to get them while they’re at their weakest.

Spore Creatures goes for $6.99 on the iPhone AppStore.
