LG is known to use Dolby’s audio technology in its phones, and now at the Mobile World Congress, the two companies [LG and Dolby] are demonstrating 5.1 multichannel surround sound on an Android-powered smartphone!
Dolby Mobile is the name of the solution and is made to “deliver rich, vibrant audio and dramatically improve listening enjoyment.” The latest version of the technology adds support for “discrete 5.1-channel surround sound.”
And that’s about all we can write on this. Plus, we have Dolby’s Ramzi Haidamus words, who’s obviously bullish on the technology’s prospects. He said: “Dolby Mobile expands the possibilities of mobile entertainment, allowing people to enjoy richer, more cinema-like audio experiences on the go.”
