NewspaperDirect Inc. has announced numerous enhancements to its PressReader application for iPhone and iPod Touch, which (topically) they say makes it ‘the best way for Olympics fans around the world to follow the big news stories for their country’s team’. With the latest free iPhone PressReader app for iPhone, iPhone and iPod Touch users can download their favorite daily read from a selection of more than 1,400 newspapers and magazines from 90 countries in 42 language – impressive!
New features offered in PressReader app (version 1.3.1) for iPhone/iPod Touch:
- Navigate publications using thumbnails or tables of contents, divided by section
- Jump to next page using article hyperlinks
- View stories as rich graphics or text views
- Access on-demand audio
- Share articles via email
- PressDisplay.com subscribers can set up automated subscriptions to automatically download their favorite titles every day
- Download and pay directly from online view
- Search online across titles and select title for download from search results
- Access Help with instructions and a handy video demo
- Ability to use existing PressDisplay.com account along with standalone device authorization.
The PressReader iPhone app is available as a free download from the iTunes App Store. Additional titles can be purchased individually for $0.99 per issue, or downloaded in conjunction with a paid subscription on PressDisplay.com. A growing list of international and national titles is available, including: The Washington Post, USA Today, Toronto Star, National Post, The Guardian, International Herald Tribune, Daily Mail, Irish Independent, L’Equipe, Il Giornale, Iltalehti, Bangkok Post, Kommersant, and De Volkskrant, to name just a few.
