Seesmic’s BlackBerry Twitter application has been updated to include two significant new features: the ability to post updates to multiple Twitter accounts and Ping.fm integration, which forwards your tweets to other social networks and content platforms, like WordPress, Flickr, Facebook, and del.icio.us. On top of existing support of yFrog and Twitpic picture sharing services, Seesmic has added TweetPhoto in this version. TweetPhoto’s a nice addition for its geotagging options alone, nevermind the stats and sharing options.
Seesmic is still relatively new to the mobile game, but has extensive experience with desktop apps, and is updating their mobile offers very regularly with new features. Seesmic is already making a name for themselves on Android, which had an update similar to BlackBerry’s for multiple accounts not long ago, but this is the first time Seesmic has done something with their recent Ping.fm acquisition. RIM is on the verge of making their own Twitter client public, but there are only a few things Seesmic would need to do to stay ahead of them: messages list integration (@ replies in addition to direct messages, preferably), using the push API to get those notifications instantly, and a snazzier user interface. UberTwitter is still the big dog when it comes to BlackBerry twitter apps, though, and I trust it will take a fair bit for both RIM and Seesmic to catch up.
