Vodafone Greece has upgraded its 3G network to HSPA+, driving peak download speeds to the theoretical maximum of 28.8Mbps. Upgraded services are initially provided in selected areas of Athens, with plans to expand to other urban areas in the near future. Huawei provided the hardware for the upgrade.
If you’re in Athens and use Vodafone’s USB modem, you better update its firmware to take advantage of the new faster Internet access. Paying a visit to a local Vodafone store will help if you’re not sure how to proceed (and you may need to change the modem).
Sounds like a dream: It’s a sunny day in Athens as you slowly drink a coffee and read IntoMobile, which loads super fast over HSPA+ network. 🙂
Hopefully, Greek economy will also be updated, with a little help of other EU member countries. (Go Greece!)
And in case you wonder, Vodafone Greece ended last year with 6.56 million customers, which translates in a market share of around 30%.
