There’s a new Garfield game available in the AppStore called Pooky Quest. It’s a platformer a la Doodle Jump that sees you jumping up, up and away to save a teddy bear named Pooky. Along the way, you’ll pick various power ups such as sweets and of course lasagna.
The game links into the new 3D animated Cartoon Network TV show, which is due to air in the autumn. Garfield’s voice is provided by the official TV series voice-over artist.
In case you wonder, Garfield Pooky Quest comes from an LA-based company called Cobra Fridge, which is a startup from folks who used to work at Nokia’s N-Gage division in the U.S. We’ve no idea what their plans are, but if I were a gaming startup in addition to iPhone, I would also focus on releasing Android games. With about 30,000 apps in the Android Market, it’s easier (compared to the Apple AppStore) to get your title noticed.
Other Garfield games in the AppStore are: Garfield Bird Crazy, Garfield Minus Garfield, Garfield Spanish Teaching Tool.
