The official BlackBerry Twitter client has been in a pseudo-closed beta for over a month now, and many are antsy to get their mitts on the final product, both those who haven’t tried it and those who are using it and want to see what’s updated. Luckily, this awkwardly-translated list of supposed feature updates gives us an idea of what to expect from Twitter for BlackBerry once it exits beta.
- Improve the overall speed of
- The ability to edit user profile
- Support for user-created lists
And a set of functions only for devices with OS 6.0:
- Possible to attribute a person with Twitter contact in your address book
- Integration with Configuration Wizard
- Integrating the universal search (probably search on the device will also take into account the results from Twitter)
Some OS 6.0-specific features is interesting, but I’m not sure what they mean by the universal search – perhaps when you’re typing a name from the home screen to make a call, twitter options will pop up too, or maybe it’s through the Google Mobile app, since it has started showing address book items and messages. Lists support was a must-have, and profile editing is nice, but I think a lot of folks are still looking for multiple account support. Personally, I’d like to be able to geotag my tweets, and have @ mentions sent to my Messages folder, but I’m sure it’ll all come in good time.
