Sprint has announced the LG Remarq at CTIA Wireless, their second eco-friendly phone after the Reclaim. The LG Remarq is a modest little slider with a 1.3 megapixel camera, stereo Bluetooth, and a 16 GB-capable microSD memory card slot, but the whole phone is 87% recyclable, and is itself made of 19% post-consumer plastic. The packaging is also cut down, PVCs and BFRs are kept to a minimum in manufacturing, and it even comes with an app that tracks how much CO2 you’re saving by walking or cycling instead of driving. There’s some moderate social networking apps in there too for Twitter and Facebook.
Sure, it might not be as flashy as Sprint’s recently-announced HTC EVO 4G, but there’s something to be said for being green (and the pricetag doesn’t hurt either). The LG Remarq will be available on May 9th. for free after rebates and on contract, but you can sign up for an e-reminder here.
