Paid Apps Coming to International App Catalog March 31st

A little while ago Palm spoke up about their lack of paid apps internationally. The statement touched those in Europe, Canada and Mexico:

‘We are very excited about the upcoming launch of international e-commerce for the Palm App Catalog… We’d also like to inform you that in addition to the planned European launch, we will be launching e-commerce support in Canada and Mexico’.

Cool beans, for sure. But for Canadians and our European and Mexican friends, we’ve been looking forward to paid apps but haven’t had a date to look forward to…until now. Our friends at PreCentral have stated the go-live date for the international App Catalog e-commerce program is… wait for it… March 31st!

Apps submitted for use in the US, Canada and Mexico will receive payment in US dollars… and apps submitted for Germany, Spain, Ireland and the UK will receive payment in Euros. Also, Palm’s Developer Relations Team is said to be on stand-by to expedite review processes for international submissions. Which, in the end, should speed up inclusion of apps in the new international catalog. Yeehaw!

Oh, and one more thing… Make sure you mark your calendar’s with this important date, would ya?
